firing on all cylinders with lots of great learning going on..
In Reading, we read two stories this week. Next week we will read our
final two stories and compare them. They are "Join the Circus" and
"Raymond's Best Summer". Speaking of the summer, it is important that
the students keep reading over the summer break. Please find my
recommended reading list for students as a preparation for the third
grade below.

other interesting facts about Taiwan. Next week the students will be
sharing their findings with the class.
In English class we completed the unit of study on More Capitalization
and Punctuation.
To celebrate the end of the second grade the students are going to
have a Water Afternoon on Monday June 17th from 2-3 pm at the school's
recess area. I will organize a few activities for the students
involving water. If the students would like to bring in their water
guns they are more than welcome to. All students that would like to
participate will need to bring a towel, change of clothes and appropriate
swim wear.
We will also have a small birthday party for the summer birthdays on
Wednesday June 19th.
Finally we will have an end of year party on the last day of school
(June 19th). We will be signing the yearbook and if you would like to
bring in a snack to share you are more than welcome. We will be doing
some end of the school year activities and saying our farewells on
this day as well.
Congratulations to Veronica Kuo for being this week's Student of the
Week. Veronica always puts her best effort into her work and always
shares with her classmates. Keep it up!
