Jin and Phillip |
This week brings the end of Semester One and a time for reflection on
everything. We have learned and experienced so much this year. Well
done to all the students for their hard work.
The second grade class would like to welcome Bill to the class as we
begin Semester Two.
The children should have brought home the Reading Practice Book and
Math book for the first semester. We will be starting new books next
week.
In Math class we will start Chapter 12 on Subtraction.
For Reading we will read a children's favorite, “Officer Buckle and
Gloria”. If you would like a CD to review the stories at home please
let me know and I will send one home with your child.
In English class next week we will continue with Unit of Study on Verbs.
For Science we will be finishing Unit 6, Rocks, Soils, and Fossils.
Next week in Social Studies we will start preparing for International
Week (February 25-27). By now your child might have mentioned that we
will be learning about Germany. We will research and present that to
the different classes as they visit the second grade room. More on
this to come.
Congratulations to Veronica Kuo for being this week's Student of the
Week. Veronica has been getting along with classmates exceptionally
well and always produces her best work. Keep it up!
